Studying at Kampung Inggris
Kampung Inggris is a place of the people whole Indonesia to intensively study English. The place is located at Pare, Kediri in East Java Province. Some reasons of the people coming over to Kampung Inggris and studying there. Firstly, they come to learn English in order to get high score in either TOEFL or IELTS for continuing study and seeking for job. Secondly, they want to utilize the spare time when they get failed to continue study.
I came to Kampung Inggris at 25 August 2017 and decided to study at TEST English School. There are many programme at TEST-ES. I chose to take Collaboration Programme of my study which means I have to study within 3 months. In Collaboration, I began to study at Foundation class which had 6 subjects/ day beginning with Memorizing class at 05.30 a.m and Multimedia Movie class at 7.30 p.m.
The memorizing subject started at 05.30 a.m until 07.00 a.m. In this subject, I was demanded to memorize daily speaking in order to improve my vocabularies which I can use everyday. The second subject was Conversation. I practised to confidently converse and delivery my idea with my classmate. Afterthat I studied Drilling from 10.30 a.m - 11.30 a.m. I learnt about English grammar which helped me in speaking and writing. Then, I learned writing within 1.30 hours from 13.00 p.m to 14.30. In writing subject, I studied how to write academically which was challenging to me in the first time because it was not my habit. However, it was difficult but I tried to struggle by making it my daily habit. After writing class, I entered Speaking class that I had to be confident to speak in front of my classmates. I brought up different topic to my speech in Speaking matery. The last subject was Multimedia Movie Class. When I attended the class for first time, I was suprised because I should sing many western songs and dance to improve my prononciation and confident. In addition, the tutor described how to obtain scholarship and showed up the scholarship announcements. Therefore, the class was useful for the students to improve confidence and gain information about the scholarships.
The next class after Foundation was Integrated class. The subjects of Integrated were similar with Foundation for first and second week. On the other hand, In the third and fourth week, the students could choice what they wanted to intensively study. There was two choices namely TOEFL and IELTS. I chose to learn IELTS in which I did as preparation before taking Establish IELTS.
In the third month, I'm becoming Establish IELTS student. I am learning about IELTS and simulating IELTS test. Furthermore, the tutors give me assignments to increase our score in IELTS. Hence, I can more be ready to do official test.
TEST-ES is not only providing tutoring English but also estalishing the students to contribute to Indonesia and global. When I was in Foundation and Integrated class, I joined one discussion group namely Team Mate. In this group, we should find out the crucial problem in the society for education, health or environment aspect. Furthermore, the group did research and collected data about the cases and solutions. Afterthat, the group had to present the research to all TEST-ES students. I was highly pleased to join this group because I could study and practise how to attend International seminar and to become universal student. The research also could be presented and pubished in International if the students desired to join Global seminar.
